CHORNOBYL TOUR

 "Chornobyl"
(4 days / 3 nights)

 

1st day 

Arrival in Kyiv. Transfer upon arrival. Check-in at hotel.
City sightseeing tour. Excursion includes: visit to ancient site of the city, outside survey of Golden Gate (11c.). St. Michael Golden-Domed Cathedral and Monastery (12c.), monument to princess Olga, St. Andrew church (18c.), St. Volodymyr Ñathedral (19c)., main street Khreschatyk, Pechersk area, outside survey of buildings of Parliament and that of Cabinet of Ministers etc.
Dinner.

2nd day

Breakfast.
Visit to Kyivo-Pecherska Lavra – a sacred place of the Orthodoxy, with architectural ensemble of 11-19 cc. At present time Kyivo-Pecherska Lavra is an active monastery and National Historical Architectural Preserve. Visit to its cathedrals, museums, exhibitions as well as to caves with the saint relics.
Visit to “Chornobyl” museum in Kyiv.
Dinner-out at Ukrainian National Restaurant. Tasting Ukrainian cuisine with folklore

3rd day

Breakfast. Trip to the town of Chornobyl (140 km). Visit to Chornobyl atomic power station, outside survey of "Sarcophagus", and that of "Shelter" installations, to contain radioactive remnants after 1986 explosion at Chornobyl atomic power station (ChAES), survey of surviving vegetation (the so-called "red forest"), visit to "dead town" Prypyat as well as that to other places connected to elimination of aftermath.  (During visit dosi meters, special clothes are provided).
Lunch at local restaurant (Chornobyl) (radioactive-free food is provided). Visit to villages inhabited by people who refused to leave their homeland to be resettled. Return to Kyiv.
Dinner.

4th day 

Breakfast. Visit to National Historical-Architectural Preserve “Saint Sofia Cathedral of Kyiv” (11 c.), with frescos and mosaics of 11c.
Transfer upon departure.
Departure.
